Installation This looks like Art

April 2011

Stationary objects in the communal kitchen of a dormitory were labeled as if in a gallery. The label provided true or fictional titles of the objects, true measurements and true materials. The exhibition title installed on the kitchen door also stated the format: bad humor or mediocre art.

Action Hairdresser

16.10.2009
Spontaneous action Hairdresser
art attic, Hugo Treffner Gymnasium
Piret Karro, Triinu Eesmaa, Anastasia Lvova, Kristi Karro

During a 30-minute break between two examinations, a retreat into the art classroom in the attic of a high school takes place. A distribution of actions follow: one places a large piece of brown paper under a chair, sits on the chair; another begins to cut her hair; third begins to draw a human torso on a canvas; fourth takes the position of an observer. After 30 minutes, the group ceases to proceed their actions. One stands up, leaving the cuts of her hair around the chair; places the drawing of a torso on the chair on her place, takes a piece of paper, writes: "INSTALLATION Hairdresser. Open until Wednesday. Authors unknown." The group leaves the room, leaving the spontaneously created installation behind.
